Eldar Redesign Concept

What if Eldar actually were a ancient species, who evolved on an alien planet from a somewhat birdlike species? With having a high intelligence, speed, flexibility, higher empathy, armor from bone (natural calcium/keratin/shell/etc) and all being a species who craves high calorie plentiful food that doesnt require killing or hunting?

Using spec evo, I figured they'd be similar to something between avians and cephalopods, having evolved as "sap-ivores" who feed on the super high sugar and fat fluids of plants and plant-like animals. If their ancestors were bird-like, but they became human-like with naturally grown armor, super flexibility, and such high senses...and the instincts to 'warp' travel, then maybe they originated from a flying compound eyed creature who slowly developed a more cephalod path...what am i saying, who cares?
